Cavendish Rentals is celebrating 20 years

April 10th, 2019

Cavendish Rentals is celebrating 20 years this month, having first opened in April 1999 in Grosvenor Street, Chester. Much has changed over the years, both within the industry and in Cavendish Rentals, but we are proud to say that many of our team have been here from the beginning!

Nicola Blake, Operations Manager, started in 2001 and David Adams (Lettings Director) and Liza Moffart (Head of Property Management branch) both started in 2002. Many other members of the team have been with us for over 10 years too. “Continuity of staff is important to us at Cavendish Rentals,” explains David Adams. “It makes a real difference to our landlords, many of whom have been with us since I began. They know that we understand their needs and their history and that they don’t have to repeat it every time they contact us!”

Although we have kept continuity in our team, there has been significant changes in the industry and the business as a whole.

People’s attitude to renting has also changed considerably over the years. It is much more of a lifestyle choice these days, allowing people the freedom to get to live in their dream home and the choice to leave when they want too. It’s far more of a positive choice these days which is reflected in landlord’s expenditure on properties. We have a lot of dream properties well over £1000 a month.

Even though renting gives people the freedom to move on whenever they like, they are tending to stay longer in properties. Rental homes are considered ‘homes’ rather temporary solutions.

The changes within Cavendish Rentals have reflected those changes within the industry. Perhaps the biggest change has been in legislation. The changes to compliance have dramatically changed our role as Letting Agents. We are far more hands on now – taking responsibility off our landlords, lightening the load and reducing their stress.
